Commvex 2006, hosted by the Fresno Commodore User Group and the
Clark County Commodore Computer Club, was held on July 29 and 30 at
the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, where we were lucky to be able to
piggyback onto a neighboring convention's wireless access. Here is a
PDF of the presentation I gave
on Prophet64. I've collected the
information I presented on stereo SIDs
on its own page. (Click any

Dick Estel and Robert Bernardo raise the Commodore colors.

Dave Haynie, Bil Herd, and Bob Russell, some of the original Commodore
engineers, were there in spirit with a video they made for the occasion.

Robert Bernardo brought a C64GS to show, which was quickly
disassembled. Eric Kudzin examines its entrails.
Robert also brought an Argentine "Drean" 64C; this is a closeup of its cover.
Closeup of the Drean's board, including its mysterious video chip (we wiped
off the goo to see the chip number).
Eric is not a watchmaker, but he played one at CommVEx. He is working on a
gold Commodore digital watch, which he wore for the rest of the show (it was
Las Vegas, after all).

cartridge carelessly tossed on the table...

Bo Zimmerman, enjoying some stereo SIDs.
Rolf Miller's presentation on text file conversion using Star Commander.
Larry Anderson's presentation on transfering files among different Commodore
machines, including the PET series.
Greg Alekel gave an impromptu demonstration of a Commodore emulator he's
working on, which runs on a Parallax board.
Yul Haasman's presentation on using MIDI instruments with a Commodore.
Jeri Ellsworth gave a talk about the theoretical possibility of doing MPEG-2
video on Commodore machines.
Jeri shows her skills with the Hummer game.
