The palace of Sultan Hamengkubowono X is in the heart of Yogyakarta. For Rp. 8500 (about $.90), tourists are allowed to enter with cameras to watch performances of gamelan, dance, wayang kulit (shadow puppets), and wayang golek (wooden puppets).
