08-06-1995 [no notes for Bellamy Castle session]
As we leave Bellamy Castle, we are attacked by four giant lizards. Garry is scared. We chase after him, but he lightning bolts me and Karnov by touch. He is enthralled by Vryxner, Lord of Corruption, who draws him to his evil shrine. I try to hold him in an Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, but he escapes easily. We decide to camp for the night and deal with the situation in the morning, but Garry comes running back with some unpleasant companions looking for the map!
After dispatching the evil ones and restoring Garry, we head for the temple ourselves. I cast Lorloveim's Shadowy Transformation in an attempt to enter, but a magic mouth appears, demanding "speak your name!" All speak the truth except Garry and are transported to a desolate plain which stretches as far as the eye can see, with a gate standing before us. A hideous half-man, half-bird demon appears, whom Ulthar recognizes as Pazuzu. Pazuzu invites us to dinner and demands that we entertain him. Ulthar tells the story of the elven shield and Pazuzu agrees to free him the next day. Suddenly, as if we weren't overwhelmed enough, Labelas Enoreth, Zoriah, and Zeus appear and take us to their respective planes for a visit. Labelas Enoreth raises Ulthar's constitution by one point.
Meanwhile, Garry, who lied that his name was "Fritz", finds himself inside the temple. He hides, but is found and captured. In a dazzling display of role-playing skill, he uses lightning bolt to create a diversion and escapes with the third part of the map.
