The Printer Guru
George Wells

George Wells was a prominent member of the GEOS community on Q-Link. He became known as the GEOS Printer Guru due to his constant efforts to create new printer drivers.

George found that he was routinely asked to create drivers for many different kinds of printers – most of which he did not own. In order to make his work easier he created a Printer Driver Editor in GeoBASIC.

At one point during the mid-1990's my sister had a Canon BJ-200 InkJet Printer. I was having trouble finding drivers that would make the most of this printer and I had heard of George and his Printer Editor. Not wanting to give the man extra work I requested a copy of his Printer Editor. George responded by sending me his Editor along with a lot of printer drivers. George even resolved an issue I was having with the HQ drivers from the PPLQ System. He informed CMD about the fix but was not sure if any action would be taken.

Anyhow, the three disk images contained here have all of the files that George sent to me. I'm going to have to look around for the letter, which I believe I still have, that outlines the exact problem with the HQ drivers. In the meantime, enGEOy these files.
