GeoTUG Disks

In February 1988 I travelled from chilly Edmonton Canada to toasty Anaheim California with my family for a visit to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios and Sea World in San Diego.

Prior to the trip I had made arrangements to meet up with Ellis Higham from the California Technical User Group (C-TUG) to exchange some software (home-brewed software from members of Commodore Users of Edmonton - CUE). Ellis was the Correspondence Secretary for C-TUG and also managed the break-away GEO-TUG (GEOS group). Ellis picked me up one morning at my hotel and we returned to his house to talk and swap software. Ellis also provided me with a copy of a Video Tape made at the December 1987 C-TUG meeting where Rob Seigel from Berkeley Softworks had demonstrated the soon-to-be-released geoPublish. GeoPublish is what got me hooked on GEOS.

Over the next year CUE and GEO-TUG swapped more software disks and newsletters. The disks presented on this CD contain the Newsletters (the “GEOS Connection” was produced with geoPublish and printed to geoPaint files with Paint Pages) and GEOS PD software from GEO-TUG.

I hope you enGEOy this look back at a California User Group from the late 1980's.
