GeoDOS
by Markus Kanet

Markus Kanet's GeoDOS is an amazing program that every GEOS user should try to work into their regular routine. The main claim to fame of this program is that it can read, write and format PC Formatted 3.5” disks. While other programs exist to do this for Commodore users this is the only program for GEOS users.

Besides the ability to work with PC disks, GeoDOS provides a full environment to handle disk commands for both Commodore and PC disks. You can also use GeoDOS as an alternate Desktop by launching programs and Desk Accessories right from GeoDOS. If you want to translate geoWrite files into PC compatible text files you can do that or vice-versa.

GeoDOS also has a unique (for GEOS users) Online Help System. With the press of the F1 key almost anywhere in the program you bring up the Help System to learn how to do most any task. For the longest time this Help System and the GeoDOS documentation was only available in German. In 2001 the translation to English was completed by Bruce Thomas, with assistance of Arndt Dettke of GoDot fame, and made available on the web on the download page of http://www.edmc.net/cue. The translated Help System, plus the full program version, is available on this CD.
