ECCC/VCFMW 2010

The fifth year of ECCC was held on September 18, 2010 in at Heron Point in Chicago. This year, we were co-located with VCF Midwest (pictures to come later). Information on Jonno Downes' BASIC extensions for writing networked programs, along with my presentation, can be found here. You know what to do; click the picture to make it more bigger.

Dinner at Aurelio's, who serve the best pizza on the planet.

Everybody knows that the bird is the word!

Some of us started picking over the exhibitors' tables Friday night, and DLH finally found the missing Compute! issue.

Attendance was excellent, and people mingled freely between the ECCC and VCFMW rooms.

Jim (jasmaz) provides product placement for a popular operating system.

The Lego table proved popular again this year.

Jason Timmons of VCFMW sets up the streaming video for the presentations.

WizardNJ shows off his Crimson Twilight shirt. He and Fuzz showed yet another preview of this soon-to-be-beta game.

Nate Lawson shows us ZoomFloppy (slides), the USB replacement for the Xx1541 adapters. This one's going to be the next must-have device, folks!

Nate's ZoomFloppy prototype, hooked up for parallel burst nibbling.

Leif gives a talk about StereoInSID, a novel solution for stereo SID sound.

As usual, Leif's talk was followed by a live demo.

My table isn't usually this messy, but I guess you can see why...

Our new friend Matt, who was thinking of selling his 128 system.

Nixie tubes! (from one of Andy and Lori's C= calculators).

Someone couldn't resist making a fort out of X-pander 3 boards at Jim Brain's table.

Eric the master craftsman at work.

Later in the evening, Leif and Jim debug the VIC-20 midi board (which will be getting a different UART).

The Prototype also got some modifications, to enable interrupts.

Another one of The Prototypes, being modified for interrupts.
I had to catch a plane in the morning, so I only stayed up till 01:30, but when I checked out at about 04:30, there were still after-parties going on... see y'all next time!
